Don K, an up-and-coming Ghanaian musician, has offered to pay the Ghc48,000 court fine for popular artist manager and entertainment critic, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog.
Don K in an exclusive interview granted to ghanaweekend.com, offered to pay the amount to the court for Bulldog to be free because he has always had the desire to have a working relationship with the latter.
‘I want to pay the money for Bulldog… the Ghc48K court fine … I want to pay because I want to work with him…I want him to manage me so I want to pay the fine then afterward we talk about business,’ he is reported to have told ghanaweekend.com.
Currently, it is unclear whether the CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment has paid the money or not, but notwithstanding, Don K has indicated that he will give Bulldog back his money so the records will show he is the one who settled the amount the court requested.
The court slapped Bulldog with this Ghc48,000 fine over a statement he made about President Akufo-Addo.
In 2021, he stated on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’ program that Nana Addo wouldn’t finish his four-year tenure if he fails to pay customers of Menzgold.
He was arrested after his statement and charged with offensive conduct to the breaches of peace.
The trial has been going on for two years, and all this time, Bulldog has pleaded not guilty to the charge, insisting he never intended to threaten the president.
He claimed that he only appealed to the president to intervene in the interest of customers of MenzGold.
He was however charged on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, with offensive conduct to the breach of the peace, and he was expected to pay a fine of Ghc48,000 or, in default, spend 40 days in prison.
