Before this year’s Ghana Music Awards which happened on April 8 at the Accra International Conference Center, Mr. Eazi’s manager, Meister announced via twitter that his artiste would not be performing at the event all because organisers of the annual award were not willing to pay what is due his artiste.
Many said Mr. Eazi’s failure to perform at the event was the reason he lost the Best African Act award to his countryman, Runtown the musician thinks otherwise. The ‘Bankulize’ singer on Hitz FM has said he cannot state the reason he did not win the award but it is true he told organisers of the show that he will not perform at the event if they do not pay the cash his manager quoted.
According to him, the organisers of the awards are the right people to give reasons for Runtown’s win. Mr. Eazi continued that he asked Charterhouse, organisers of the awards to give him $30,000 but they were not wlling to pay. He told KMJ on the morning show that the $30,000 was even cheap looking at his rate card. The singer added that a university outside Ghana paid $35,000 to book him for same night VGMAs was happening.
