US-based Ghanaian artiste, Kaykay Amponsah who recently won the Afropop Artist of the Year in the just ended Ghana Music Awards-USA says he has received a lot of backlash for his latest single, Nkwasia Nwom.
The award-winning artist released a new music video titled “Nkwasia Nwom”. At the beginning of the video, the versatile artiste shows his disdain for ‘Stupid’ songs as he watches some music videos on TV and breaks the screen because he considers those songs as ‘gibberish’.

According to Kaykay Amponsah, in the 80’s and time past Ghanaians use to respect good music and sensible songs but in this new era sensible songs do not sell anymore, they get little or no attention at all. He further named some artists as those in the Ghana music scene who are currently trending because of useless and meaningless content. He listed AY Poyoo, Ablekuma Nana Lace, Patapaa among others.
KayKay Amponsah lamented on how some key Ghanaian music industry players took wrong meaning into his music piece. He reacted more specifically to a comment made by renowned sound engineer and producer, Mix Master Garzy. Master Garzy said KayKay Amponsah was just disrespecting Ghana Music by making a song like that.
In a tweet, KayKay said ‘Concluding that my song #NkwasiaNwom criticizes the Ghanaian music industry negatively will be pretty wrong. Unless you haven’t listen to it yet. People like @mastergarzy with such accusations flagrantly flies in the face of the truth.’
