Actor Kwaku Manu has taken credit for being the first Ghanaian actor to put movies on YouTube.
In a recent interview with ZionFelix, Manu recalled when he started shooting Ghanaian movies for YouTube.
Claiming to be the pioneer, Kwaku Manu reminisced about his attempt to convince Agya Koo to make good use of YouTube during the period Kumawood’s movie production took a nose dive. But he [Agya Koo] didn’t show interest at the time.
He disclosed that the first movie they put on YouTube was ‘Fire House’ and later created short skits mainly for the YouTube platform.
Kwaku Manu said he was not selfish when his YouTube venture started, he claimed to have supported others and even went to help their productions in a surprise manner.
He observed most of his colleagues were too lethargic to try a new challenge after Kumawood was not at its usual best.
Kwaku Manu confirmed that YouTube is a great platform many young people use to make money.
He revealed his colleagues are still producing content for YouTube and making money from it.
