Chelsea Tayui stated that she doesn’t fall into the category of her family–which she described as ‘nut and bolt’.

She advised African parents that there is a lot more than to be a lawyer, doctor and engineer.

According to her, her decision to join the pageantry was to get herself distracted from school after she changed her major several times.

She clarified that her academic performance was good but she wasn’t happy.
