Media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has recounted the dilemma she found herself in some years ago.

Before she will go on air to read the major news bulletin on TV, Nana said her mum sent her a text message to inform her about her son being knocked by a car.

The EIB Network General Manager revealed on Joy FM’s ‘Media, Showbiz and Motherhood Dialogue’ that she was left in the middle of choosing her job or attending to her injured son who was being taken care of by her mother.

She finally decided to read the news on TV.

“I was late for the news, and just before I was about to go on air, I received a text message from mom saying she had picked up my son and a car had just knocked him,” Nana Aba Anamoah disclosed. She added: “I didn’t know what to do.”

According to Nana Aba, she informed her director after they went on break and she was shocked about her decision.

Speaking on why she made such a decision, Nana Aba Anamoah said, “I was thinking about my career, Emma Morrison, the producer would’ve understood, but I wasn’t sure the men who were in charge of the organisation would understand, but I sailed through that bulletin.”

She added, “it was the most difficult decision I had to make choosing my career over my child… it was painful, I felt so bad because I let myself down and I let my son down.”

If she is to find herself in the same situation today, Nana Aba stated: “I would walk away.”
