Ghanaian artiste Kweku Darlington has opened up about a strange sickness he battled.
For over a year, Darlington recounted in a recent interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show that he was fighting for his life—hence his musical hiatus.
Not being able to move and do anything, the ‘Sika Kankan’ singer said he later came to the realization he was spiritually attacked and had to seek intervention.
“It even came off my skin. It was so bad that I couldn’t even go out. I still have some of the marks on my skin. The whole idea was just to keep me inside so I couldn’t come outside because I’m dangerous when I’m outside. In a nutshell, I was buried with only my head out,” he told the host, Roselyn Felli.
He claimed this started after breaking up with some of his friends. Kweku, who was living in Accra moved back to Kumasi for proper healing.

Sadly, doctors and many herbalists were unable to detect what was wrong with him and give him the needed medication. Following this hurdle, they used prayers as the last resort and it helped to unravel the mystery behind his sickness.
“It wasn’t a hospital thing but spiritual because it started with my eye. I went to the clinic, and they did everything they could do but didn’t find the cause. They gave me drugs and injections, spectacles, and other things, but nothing happened. So, it was a congregation that I used to join back at Atwea Mountains; I was there sometimes ago, and they were able to identify what was happening to me. So, after identifying it, we had to clear all of them before I could take drugs,” he disclosed.
Answering whether he offended someone, Darlington said his issue with a friend was a normal argument which he thinks could not have led to that extent.
As he is on his way to fully recover, Kweku Darlington has dropped a new song titled “Grateful to Your Ex,” which tells people to appreciate their previous relationship.
