In a fiery response to recent allegations of song theft, the producer behind Kuami Eugene‘s latest hit, “Canopy,” has taken to social media to denounce claims made by Kwame Yogot.

In a video he has shared across social media platforms, the producer aimed to set the record straight, firmly asserting that the song rightfully belongs to Kuami Eugene, not Kwame Yogot.

The video, which swiftly went viral, also has the producer’s impassioned rebuttal to Yogot’s assertions.

He admonished the “Biibi Besi” hitmaker to exhibit maturity and wisdom, emphasizing that “Canopy” was never Yogot’s creation but rather Kuami Eugene’s brainchild.

Furthermore, the producer divulged crucial details surrounding the song’s inception, shedding light on the collaborative process that birthed “Canopy.” According to his account, Kuami Eugene had envisioned a collaboration with artists such as Lasmid, Malcolm Nuna, and Kwame Yogot.

However, Yogot’s involvement was solely as a featured artist, with no claim to ownership over the song’s composition.

In his rebuke, the producer highlighted Yogot’s lack of involvement in the song’s conceptualization, asserting that he had no knowledge of “Canopy” until invited to contribute his verse in the studio. Such claims effectively dismantled Yogot’s assertions of ownership, painting a clear picture of Kuami Eugene’s sole proprietorship over the track.

Expressing his dismay at Yogot’s baseless accusations, the producer minced no words in condemning the falsehoods propagated against Kuami Eugene. He affirmed that, were he in Kuami Eugene’s shoes, legal action would have been swiftly pursued against Yogot for defamation and false claims.
