Ghanaian radio and television presenter, Jay Foley has lamented the ill-treatment media personalities in the country go through in the quest of interviewing foreign artistes who are billed to perform in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s ‘Daybreak Hitz’ program which was monitored by zionfelix.net, Jay said the troubles that media personalities come across in dealing with irresponsible organizers sometimes make the media so cheap and a bit useless.
He narrated his sad encounter with major foreign acts who had gigs in the country.
The astute presenter recounted how he waited together with some of his colleagues at the African Reagent Hotel some years ago from 12midnight to 7 am to get interviews with Fat Joe and Omarion but unfortunately, when they showed up, Omarion told them no interviews and Fat Joe who waited for a few seconds later joined a bus for them to drive off.
Another hurtful experience was when he was told to join a bus conveying Rick Ross and his entourage to the Airport with an assurance of granting the American rapper an interview when they get there but it turned up not materializing.
He divulged Rick Ross’ team told him not to turn and look at the rapper when they were on the bus. After obeying and going through all this hassle, Rick Ross also said no interviews when they reached their destination.
Jay Foley also shared how Keri Hilson declined to have interviews with invited Ghanaian media outlets who waited for more than two hours before her arrival.
He stressed that the stories are endless and he is happy the availability of social media has made it possible for the populace to know about some of the happenings.
