Angel Maxine has taken delight in being the first transgender musician in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’, Angel Maxine, born Maxwell Okyere Opoku said he is proud to be the only transgender musician in the country.
Angel Maxine, an alumnus of Koforidua Polytechnic now known as Koforidua Technical University revealed he seized the opportunity of his popularity in school to start his musical career.

He recounted dressing like a lady whenever he was mounting the stage and led a choreography group of women.
Known as ‘Sexy Lagazy’ way back in school, Maxine said his dancing moves, winding and stagecraft pulled a lot of crowed despite the insults they rained on him and threw things at him on the stage sometimes.
However, he didn’t allow these challenges to hold her back—as she learned to please herself and work hard towards his goals.

When he was asked about how the Ghanaian media is accepting him in the industry, Maxine stated that whenever his songs are played, they try to link it to transgender.
Angel Maxine is dreaming to reach a point where the issue of transgender won’t matter in his career.
He also boasted about how multi-talented he is.
Currently, Angel Maxine is promoting his latest song titled ‘D3d33d3’.
