Ghanaian actor, Kobina Amissah-Sam has registered his displeasure towards the organizers of Ghana Movie Awards.
In a post sighted by zionfelix.net, the Beasts of No Nation actor was not enthused about how the organizers put things together.
He wondered why actors and filmmakers in the country are still giving prominence to the award scheme after they [organizers] have failed so many times.
Kobina Sam urged his colleagues to come together and boycott the Ghana Music Awards which appears to be a scam.
He cited the need for them to fight for the future of the Ghanaian movie industry.

LONG BUT IMPORTANT AND NECESSARY….
I’m really surprised some Actors and Actresses who ought to know better and fight for the betterment of this Ghana movie industry are still interested in going to this year’s @ghanamovieawards1.. An awards scheme that has different account for every year.. An awards scheme that couldn’t even publish list of winners of the previous awards after 48hrs of the show… An awards scheme which up till now still take the awards from you from backstage and present to another winner.. An awards scheme which is yet to present the statuettes “Beast of No Nation” and other movies won some five years ago. An award scheme that actors are “forced” to perform as though they are musicians just so they can win awards.. Need I say more?… In fact I challenge last year’s winners to show me the statuettes they took home as awards winners. Just imagine the disgrace of awarding Idris Alba and the Director Carry Fugunaga and some 5 years down the line they still haven’t received their awards… And we support this?
We are not serious… Mawuko Kuadzi started a campaign for a boycott but as usual people didn’t support because they’ve spent money to buy “expensive” clothes to go and slay for the ‘gram… Is that all we care about as actors?… Can’t we see how disrespectful this awards is to we actors? … We deserve better. Let’s just boycott this “scam” of an awards and ask for a better one… And with this I expect the ‘A’ Class actors and actresses to be championing this boycott agenda.. We the young actors look up to you guys for such fights.. Fights that will help build and make our industry better.. Fight that will prevent people from taking us for granted..
YES… I’m an Actor… I featured in “Beast of No Nation” and I’m pissed we still haven’t gotten our awards since like 5-6 years ago.
LET’S SPEAK UP…
Let me just end here for now… I will be back… Peace.
