Gospel musician Abena Serwaa Ophelia has revealed despite being in the industry for 20 years, she has never received an award.
She added she lost to fellow gospel sensation Nii Okai the only time she was nominated for her song “daa daa daa” many years ago.
When asked how that makes her feel, the minstrel said she wasn’t a bit bothered because she only considers awards as the “cherry on top of a cake”.
Abena Serwaa Ophelia quickly added that her primary goal is to focus is on her calling and do the work of God to her maximum potential.
The talented artist stated, “I am not allergic to awards, I’ll gladly receive one if its offered but failure to get an award doesn’t make my ministry worthless. God knows my work and He awards me in diverse ways” Abena Serwaa further had this to say to her fellow musicians, “stop nagging if you haven’t been awarded because God’s time is always the best”.

As part of the two decade anniversary, she has released a new song titled ‘Sing My Praise’ which features her colleague, Rose Adjei.
