Renowned Ghanaian rapper Vincent Kwaku Osei, popularly known as Strongman, has announced a shift in his focus away from the prestigious Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Despite being a consistent contender in the Best Rapper category for five consecutive years, Strongman has decided not to prioritize these awards due to repeated losses.
Strongman, who is once again nominated for Best Rapper this year with his hit song “Dear God,” shared his sentiments in a recent interview on Akoma FM’s “Akoma Mmre” with Tony Best.
He candidly revealed that his expectations for the awards night have significantly diminished.
“I have been nominated for the Best Rapper category five times in a row but have yet to win. This year, I am nominated again with ‘Dear God,’ but honestly, I no longer hold high expectations for the awards night,”
“I always submit my work for consideration, but I don’t get recognized. Therefore, I need to devote my time and attention to things that make me more relevant and always entertain my fans,” he stated.
He explained that the continuous pattern of nominations without wins has led him to shift his focus elsewhere.
