On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, a video filmed by some unknown person captured the moment popular Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo was quite angry.

Even though the people who were around tried to calm him down, the successful farmer was determined to say his piece to the individual who had angered him.

After the video surfaced online, some people have accused him of assaulting one University of Ghana student identified as Dacosta, who confronted Dumelo over restrictions on his phone usage at the center.

A commentator reported on social media that Dacosta had allegedly sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

The commentator even attached a photo of a bloody knee, which was later proven unrelated to the incident and did not even occur in Ghana.

In response to these wild allegations, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, refuted the allegations of assaulting the said gentleman at the Limited Voter Registration Exercise.

In the statement he released on Wednesday, May 29, John Dumelo appealed to the public to disregard the misleading propaganda disseminated by the NPP and their parliamentary candidate, Lydia Alhassan.

He described himself as a peace-loving citizen who respects all individuals, including his adversaries, and would not behave in a way that compromises the integrity of the registration process.
