Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has announced his inability to attend the much-anticipated 2024 Ghana Music Awards UK.
The rapper, who was slated to perform at the prestigious event for the first time, broke the news via a video shared on his social media platforms today.
In the video, Sarkodie expressed his disappointment, stating that he had been eagerly looking forward to gracing the stage. “This was going to be my first time at the Ghana Music Awards UK, and I was so hyped for it. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I cannot fly out of Ghana as planned,” he said.
Sarkodie also disclosed that he had personally reached out to popular promoter and event organizer, Alordia, to explain the situation and ensure everything was handled professionally.
He used the opportunity to encourage fans to show up in their numbers for the event, promising to make it up to them in the near future.
The 2024 Ghana Music Awards UK is set to take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, and promises an unforgettable night of performances. The event will feature legendary acts such as Esther Smith, Ofori Amponsah, and Akosua Adjepong, alongside other industry favorites like Barosky, Kofi Nti, Epixode, and Mr Drew, among many others.
