In the early hours of Friday, September 27, 2024, popular entertainment critic and artist manager Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as Koka, took to his Facebook wall to issue a public apology to award-winning gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy.

The apology comes in the wake of a series of serious allegations and court proceedings that has currently cast a shadow over their former working relationship.

In his post, Koka apologized to all who felt disappointed in him what what allegedly happened recently and also showed gratitude to all the people who stood by him during this trying time of his life.

“FRIENDS AND FANS OF KOKA… I AM SAFELY BACK FROM HIBERNATION ALTHOUGH NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE I AM A BETTER PERSON. GOD KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. I THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT. TO ALL THOSE I UNCONCIOUSLY WRONGED INCLUDING OHEMAA, I SINCERELY APOLOGISE. AND TO ALL THOSE WHO MADE ME SUFFER, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY FORGIVE…. THIS IS WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE…. IT FLOWS FORWARDS AND NEVER COMES BACK…..WATCH THIS SPACE….. I LOVE YOU ALL…💪🏿,” his post reads.

This apology comes after Koka found himself at the center of a legal battle, after he was accused of allegedly threatening Ohemaa Mercy’s life.

The accusations stemmed from an alleged fallout between the two, who had been working together since 2021.

Koka served as Ohemaa Mercy’s road manager and marketer, a relationship that abruptly ended when Koka claimed the gospel star had taken on projects without his involvement.

Their professional relationship soured when Koka demanded GH₵8,500, a sum he alleged Ohemaa Mercy owed him. When she hesitated to settle the debt, Koka reportedly resorted to issuing threats on social media and behind closed doors.

According to a report by Angel FM after the appeared in court for the first time, Koka was accused of threatening to send thugs after Ohemaa Mercy if she did not pay him the outstanding amount.

The matter escalated when Ohemaa Mercy, fearing for her safety, filed a complaint with the police. Court proceedings revealed that Koka had given the gospel musician a deadline to settle the debt or face consequences.

Despite multiple attempts by the police to invite Koka for questioning, he refused to cooperate, leading to his arrest at Afrikiko in Accra.

Koka, however, maintained that his threats were never meant to cause harm.

During his submissions in court, he clarified that he only wanted to retrieve his money and had no real intention of following through on the threats. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
