Ever since he made his big breakthrough onto the music scene, almost all his major hits songs have come under a lot of scrutinies because of accusations that he either ‘stole’ someone’s song or a line of lyrics or phrase and passing them off as his own.

Similar concerns have been raised again after he dropped his first 2020 single, ‘Turn Up’.

People are alleging that he ‘stole’ portions of Davido’s Aye song for the composition.

However, Kuami Eugene has told MzGee on TV3 that he did not copy excerpts from Davido and that he composed the entire track himself.

The Lynx Entertainment signed musicians stated in the interview monitored by zionfelix.net that: “There is not even a single feel of Davido in my ‘Turn Up’ song. Besides the key is high and Davido never sings in high keys…”

He also stressed that he does not let the accusations interfere with his work, no matter the number of times his distractors will bring it up.

“The things they say do not affect me in any way. I am not surprised at all. These are people who do the same thing to everybody even to their family members” Kuami Eugene said.
