The president of the People’s Republic of Liberia, George Oppong Weah, has reportedly donated an amount of $10,000 to the family of the late footballer, Christian Atsu.
According to a report by GhanaWeb, the money was presented to the family of the former Newcastle player by legendary Black Stars player, Kwame Ayew.
Kwame Ayew is reported to have visited the family home of Christian Atsu to make the donation on behalf of George Weah in the company of some members of the Liberian community in Ghana on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
The family reportedly received the donation and show their profound gratitude to the former footballer who happens to be the only African footballer to have won the Ballon D’or award

Christian Atsu, the professional footballer who until his untimely demise played for Hatayspor in Turkey.
He passed away on February 6, 2023, due to injuries sustained in the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria.
Christian Atsu’s body arrived in Ghana in the late hours of Sunday, February 19, 2023, after it was recovered from the rubble following an earthquake.
Currently, Atsu’s family has announced that his one-week rite will be performed on March 4, 2023.
