Rumours making rounds about that the contract termination and reduction in the duration of some actors, actresses, and artistes who are under Zylofon Music Label have been confirmed by the Communications Director for Zylofon Music, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo.
In an interview with Hitz FM, the entertainment pundit disclosed that it is not necessarily a termination of actors’ and artistes’ contracts but it is somewhat a reshuffle that is set to take place very soon in the label.
According to him, the company is currently undergoing self-assessment and review of contracts of individuals signed onto the label like every serious business entity does.
“Contracts are not being terminated or reduced. Every viable business at a certain point in time has to do a review or reassess themselves to refocus. If there’s a need for them to change their style, it’s acceptable.
Being stagnant doesn’t help. So I think Zylofon Music has gotten to a point where we have to make some changes. Well, there may be an iota of truth in the claims but it’s not necessarily or strictly a major effective change. However, the duration of the contracts of some artistes are being reviewed, but as to whether it’ll be an extension or reduction it’s still in process.” He said.
He added that there is a legal binding and documents between the label and the artistes so the label cannot just take a monopoly decision to get rid of an artiste like most people assume.
Adding that since it is an ongoing process, it’ll be difficult for the record label to come out blatantly and announce the names of artistes who are likely to be exempted.
