The Chief Executive Officer of Miracle Films, Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye, has showered praises on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.

The award-winning movie producer and director after a recent meeting called by the minister to meet the staleholders of the movie industry in the Ashanti Region expressed his strong belief in the young politician’s ability to restore the fading glory of Kumawood.

In an interview he granted Akoma FM on February 20, 2025, the veteran filmmaker revealed that the with Dr. Amoakohene left him highly impressed.

According to Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye, no regional minister in the history of the Ashanti Region has shown such keen interest in reviving the local movie industry.

“He is a wise man. When we met with him, he proved beyond doubt that he truly cares about Kumawood. Since I established Kumawood in Kumasi in the early ‘90s, no regional minister has ever called for a stakeholder engagement like he did,” Samuel Nyamekye noted.

The Miracle Films CEO further disclosed some of the innovative measures Dr. Amoakohene plans to introduce to breathe new life into Kumawood.

“Do you know he has plans to put up billboards with pictures of our stars, just like they do in Nigeria? Right now, most of our actors have relocated to Accra because they are not being utilized here in Kumasi. He wants to change that,” he revealed.

Despite his optimism, Samuel Nyamekye maintained that even if the minister is unable to fulfill all his promises, he still holds him in high regard for the effort he has shown so far.

“Even if he doesn’t do all that he has promised, I wouldn’t be disappointed because I was really moved by how he received us and the passion with which he spoke,” he concluded.
