Talented Ghanaian actress Portia Asare Boateng after being off the TV screens for almost five years has revealed that she is back to make an important comeback in the ‘dying’ Ghana movie industry.
With suggestions that she went off the screens because of her husband,
Rev. John Wilberforce Aidoo told her to stop acting when as soon as they got married, the mother of two has debunked these suggestions in a recent interview with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ show.
Portia revealed on the show that her pastor husband never told her to stop acting but she decided to take a step back herself and focus on her tertiary education and get at least a degree for ‘shaggy’ reasons.
She further disclosed that because acting became a part of her life very early, education, which is something that is the premium concern of her family was not her focus.
Portia Asare Boateng stated it might sound surprising but her mother who is quite advanced in age is currently pursuing her Ph.D. and as such, she felt there was no need to waste away while she was still young.
She is set to premiere the first major project under her own production house titled “Mary Magdalene” very soon.
