While several creatives who openly campaigned for then-presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama have since secured appointments under the new National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Ghanaian musician Nero X says he’s not anticipating any such offer, nor is he lobbying for one.

According to the Osey hitmaker, his decision to back the NDC during the 2024 elections stemmed from a firm belief in Mahama’s vision and leadership capacity—not from personal ambition or expectations of political reward.

In a recent conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Nero X was asked if he would accept a government role should one be offered. While he admitted he would consider a position that aligns with his interests, he emphasized that his political support was driven by patriotism rather than opportunism.

“Yes, I would gladly accept any position that aligns with my interests,” he clarified. “However, my support for H.E. John Dramani Mahama in the last elections was not about getting an appointment but about helping Ghana make the right choice. As a patriotic citizen, I truly believe we did just that.”

Away from politics, Nero X continues to make strides in music. On Saturday, March 29, 2025, he released a new single titled Low Key, a deeply personal track that chronicles his journey in the music industry.

“Low Key is my latest single in 2025. It captures the ups and downs of my music career—my growth, my challenges, and everything in between,” he explained. “First of all, I want to thank and appreciate everyone who has supported me from day one.”

He further noted that the song isn’t just a reflection of his journey but also a message of motivation for his fans.

“I want Low Key to inspire people. No matter what life throws at you, don’t give up. Stay focused, work hard, and go get that money,” he said. “And on another level, it’s my way of letting everyone know that I’m still very active—just keeping things low key for now.”

Looking ahead, Nero X revealed that there’s more music in the pipeline. He and his team are currently working on a larger project, which he hints could be either an EP or a full album to be released before the end of the year.

“My team and I are planning to come out with an EP or album before the year ends. So, everyone should watch out for it. Keep streaming my songs on all digital platforms, follow me on social media, and share my works. I have a lot in store for my fans,” he revealed.
