Rising Ghanaian music duo, ZeeTM has accused MzVee of stealing their beat.
The group were shocked about how MzVee laid her hands on the beat they bought from music producer MOGBeatz when speaking in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’.
According to them, they paid 1,300 Ghana cedis to MOG via his mother’s mobile money number for the beat in March 2019.
After they had opted for a second beat, MOG told them he gave the beat to a Nigerian musician because of their slowness but upon communication with the musician, he was ready to accept a refund.
ZeeTM observed the payment of the beat and the compensation amounted to 1,600 Ghana cedis and MOGBeatz sent it [the beat] through their manager’s email address.
The group said they wanted to feature Shatta Wale on their song but since that didn’t materialize, they decided to release the song this year.
After releasing the song titled ‘Promise’ on February 10, 2020, ZeeTM stated they had a hint that MzVee has also released a new song ‘Who Are You’ with the same beat.
Quickly, they informed their manager about the development and he queried MOG about it but he denied selling the beat to MzVee or any other person.
Astonishingly, ZeeTM and MzVee released their songs on the same day.
After the incident, the duo claimed MzVee and her team rushed to MOG for a receipt to falsify that they are the culprit.
According to them, MOG has sent about three (3) beats to them without giving them receipts but they can track how the payments were made.
They were of the view that, MzVee and her team tried playing smart and [someone] commanded OMG for the receipt meanwhile they haven’t paid him.
ZeeTM revealed they have not contacted MzVee following the incident and her team has not made any attempt for them to solve the issue.
Citing the disrespectfulness in this whole saga, ZeeTM urged MzVee to take the song down and MOG should come out and explain “the criminal thing he did.”
The group emphasized that they are conducting their investigations into the matter.
ZeeTM, known for their affiliation with R2bees indicated they are not in the Ghanaian music industry to envy anyone.
