Omanhene Kwabena Asante, host of Adom TV’s Badwam has stated that he does not want to be associated with anything that he views as disrespectful or anything that he thinks will make money out of him without his prior notice and that in his personal opinion is what Prince Mackay’s RTP Awards stands for.
The celebrated broadcaster and award-winning radio and TV personality stated that with the sort of work he has done in the media space over the years, it does not take an award from discredited awards scheme like the RTP to get his name out there. Omanhene further added that he feels very disrespected that Prince Mackay and his awards scheme, the RTP will add his name to various categories of the awards without his foreknowledge.
The Multimedia group top journalist added that he believes his name Omanhene Kwabena Asante is way bigger than the RTP Award. He also established that he made the name for himself through a lot of hard work and will not sit idly for an award scheme that is discredited and a negator to destroy his name.

When the TV and radio show host was asked if he has any evidence to back his allegations, he stated that he is the evidence himself. Again, when he was again questioned if all these things he is saying is just a form of solidarity support from his colleague Kwamena Idan, Omanhene Kwabena Asante stated that he didn’t have any idea about his colleague’s banter with the Awards scheme until his interview.
Omanhene Kwabena Asante also expressed his displeasure about the nomination because he strongly believes his name has a constituency and the organizers of the awards are tarnishing it just to promote their awards. He, however, disclosed that he will not sue Prince Mackay and his awards scheme but he is cautioning him to either come out and apologize to him or better still just take his name from the scheme.
The 2018 edition of the Radio and Television Personality Awards happens on October 6 at the Accra International Conference Center.
