Filmmaker Socrate Sarfo has blasted Ghana ‘Rap Sofo’ Obrafuor for his “no music industry in Ghana” comment.
Obrafuor recently said there was no music industry in Ghana as far as he is concerned.
He revealed this in an interview with graphic showbiz by saying, “where is the industry? I am sorry we do not have anything like that. What we have are music producers, sound engineers, singers and rappers but not an industry so let’s stop saying we have that”.
This statement definitely didn’t sit well with Socrate and he has voiced his opinion without holding back.
Speaking in an interview with Dr Cann on Happy FM, which was monitored by zionfelix.net, Socrate made known his disappointment in Obrafuor for making such a “loose” comment about the music industry.
He added this statement was distasteful and had the power to discourage potential investors and sponsors.
He further cautioned industry players to be careful of the kind of information they give out through the media.
He stressed on the fact that the media which has immense power must be used wisely.
“The media carries the entire industry on its shoulders so it’s up to you to use the media wisely to make the public hunger and thirst for what the industry has to offer,” Socrate Sarfo stated.
