There appears to be a new trend where the musicians who can be described as the ‘oldgees’ are taking offense with certain actions of the relatively younger ones because they failed to do something they felt would have helped their efforts in the industry.

In the latest of such developments, Keche Joshua, one-half of the renowned Ghanaian music duo Keche, has come out to publicly criticize fellow artist King Paluta for failing to promote a song they collaborated on.

The track, titled “My Father” by Keche featuring King Paluta, was released in June 2024 and has since garnered about 42,000 views on YouTube for its lyric video.

In a fiery video shared on X on August 23, 2024, Keche Joshua expressed his frustration with King Paluta’s behavior, accusing him of disrespect and refusing to promote their joint effort.

He pointed out that while King Paluta has actively promoted songs with other artists like Sista Afia, Eno Barony, Tulenkey, and Wendy Shay, he failed to do the same for their collaboration.

“We did a song with you and you never posted it. I reached out to your team, and they said they don’t use his official account to post things. They use the King Paluta Army page instead,” Joshua explained.

He went on to detail how, despite multiple reminders, King Paluta only reluctantly created a promotional video, which he neither shared nor retweeted.

Keche Joshua expressed his disbelief at the perceived ‘disrespect’ towards Keche, a well-established music duo, and took a jab at artists with only one or two hits, criticizing their attitude.

“You get an artist like Keche, and you disrespect us? You made it seem like we were disturbing you, so you just did something for us. Let nobody come and say there’s no love in the industry because these one-hit artists are very disrespectful,” he concluded.
