President Akufo-Addo has announced that the earlier restrictions imposed on the movement of persons within Great Accra, Greater Kumasi, Kasoa and Tema have been lifted.
He made this announcement during his seventh address to the citizenry to provide an update on measures the country has put in place to deal with the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

He added that the decision which takes effect from Monday, April 20, follows achievements made with aggressive contact tracing and enhanced testing capacities which have made it possible to contain the spread in Ghana.

The president was however very quick to add that the ban on all forms of social gathering, including religious gatherings and the closure of Ghana’s borders, are still in place.
The president also stressed that strict adherence to social distancing protocol remains in place.
