Ghanaian actor and outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Prince David Osei, has acknowledged the NPP’s apparent defeat in the 2024 general elections.
This comes ahead of an official declaration by the Electoral Commission, with provisional results suggesting a strong lead for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a post shared on Sunday, December 8, 2024, on his social media platfoms, Prince David Osei expressed pride in his team’s dedication during the campaign, commending their relentless efforts in championing the vision of the NPP and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“What a fascinating phenomenon we’ve just witnessed! Ghana has spoken, and the results were not quite what we all anticipated. I am beyond proud of myself, my team, and our collective efforts; we gave it our all and fought a vigorous battle,” he wrote in part.
The actor further explained his bold decision to support Dr. Bawumia, citing his belief in the vice president’s solution-oriented policies.
While expressing disappointment in the outcome, Prince David Osei remained optimistic, acknowledging that “Ghana often craves a change every eight years” and congratulating the NDC for their apparent victory.
“I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you who bolstered me with your unyielding support. A hearty congratulations to our worthy rivals, NDC,” his post continued.
Despite the setback, the actor vowed resilience and urged his fellow NPP supporters to regroup and prepare for a stronger comeback in the next elections. Signing off with a spirited “Kukrudu,” he encouraged a friendly post-election banter, signaling his commitment to Ghana’s democratic process.
