Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has extended his congratulations to John Dramani Mahama, who has been declared the winner of Ghana’s 2024 presidential election.
On Monday, December 9, 2024, Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), officially announced John Mahama as the president-elect.
The nationwide elections, held on Saturday, December 7, saw Mr. Mahama achieve a commanding victory. According to the EC, he garnered 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total. His closest competitor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.
Jean Mensa explained that results were declared from 267 of the country’s 276 constituencies. Outstanding issues delayed the collation of results in nine constituencies, totaling approximately 947,000 votes. However, she assured the public that even if all these votes were added to Dr. Bawumia’s tally, the outcome would remain unchanged.

He wrote: “Congratulations to the President-Elect of the Republic of Ghana 🇬🇭… I will be president one day very soon. So, showing honor to whom honor is due, don’t get it twisted at all guys. I am different, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of here!”
