Ghanaian late dancehall artiste Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng known as Ebony Reigns in showbiz, funeral clothes called “Maame Hw3” and “Aseda” have diminished in sales on the market.
After the demise of the late Ebony, GTP launched new funeral clothes in memory of the dancehall artiste.
The cloth was not only the official outfit for the burial of the “Poison” hitmaker on 24th of March 2018 at the Forecourt of the State House but also for the funeral of others.
The late Ebony’s funeral clothes were named after her hit song “Maame Hw3” and her gospel song titled “Aseda”.
Retailers who purchased the clothes to sell to the public have complained bitterly to Zylofon FM in regards to the low patronage of the clothes in their shop even though they expected customers to purchase it for the funeral of their relatives.
According to an anonymous source distributor, zionfelix.net heard on the station, the media not advertising the cloth on their platforms anymore causing people not to notice the existence of the cloth on the market.
She added that, after the cloth was unveiled to the public, the advertisement at that time boosted the purchase of the materials but not anymore due to no advert in recent time, therefore, making her run at a loss.
“After distributing the clothes to us. You people don’t advertise it anymore. After the small advert that they did a little for us that was all” she said
”I have more of the cloths in my shop and other branches as well but they are not buying them” she added
Ebony died in a road accident on February 8, 2018, whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother. Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Astu Vondee, her bodyguard, were also killed in the fatal accident.
