Sarkodie during sound check at One African Concert in Dubai

Ghanaian rap artiste Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie disappointed most of his fans who paid to watch him at the One African Concert in Dubai on November 16 after he failed to mount stage on the night of the concert.

Zionfelix.net gathers that Obidi arrived in Dubai on Wednesday, November 15 morning with his team and attended the pre-event party hours after his arrival at the city known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture, and a lively nightlife scene.

The BET award-winner hours before the main event on Thursday went for soundcheck and arrived on time at the venue for the main show but never performed.

According to Eugene Osafo Nkansah of peacefmonline.com who was at the venue of the show, “during the concert, host of the show Banky W announced Sarkodie as the next act on stage after Nigeria’s Teckno performance and Sarkodie’s DJ, DJ Mensah mounted the stage but Banky W came back to announce Davido’s name after someone whipped to him on stage that Davido was next.
The show started at about 9:30 pm and ended at about 2:45 am and all the artistes numbering about 20 from different African countries(Kenya, Angola, South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzanian, Nigeria etc) performed with the exception of Ghana’s Sarkodie.”

Sarkodie announced during the show on twitter that he is not performing and apologised to all his fans for disappointing them.

“Sorry to fans in Dubai but I’m not performing… hopefully I make it next time …”

Zionfelix.net cannot tell why the “Revenge Of The Spartans” rapper failed to perform after traveling to Dubai for the event since organisers of the show and the artiste or his management have not made any official statement about the misfortune.

Superstars from the continent who performed at the One African concert included 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, Tecko, Diamond, Victoria Kimani, Cassper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, Emma Nyra and many others.
