Award winning rapper, Sarkodie has disclosed he regrets his decision to prioritize using white girls in his music videos earlier in his career.

King Sark as he is affectionately called recently added another feather in his cap when he won the Best International Flow at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The rapper also participated in the BET 2019 cypher alongside Caribbean rapper Kalash.

Sarkodie’s stellar submission on the cypher has left people in awe.

The rapper in his freestyle is seen pushing an empowerment agenda for Africa and for dark-skinned women.

Sarkodie used the opportunity to advise people to free their minds from the things holding them back from greatness.

He also advised women to appreciate their melanin skin and be proud of their scars and stretch marks.

According to him, there’s nothing more beautiful than a skin like that and a woman who takes absolute care of it.

Speaking at a private cocktail event, Sark revealed his inspiration for the lyrics was his inclination that people shouldn’t allow others to tell them they aren’t beautiful because they are black.

Casting his mind back to his early days, he said he regrets allowing himself to be brainwashed into believing that using white girls in videos makes it more marketable.

Sarkodie added he was very embarrassed by this and therefore believes all hands should be on deck to ensure Brown skin girls take pride in their skin.
