Ghanaian actress and television presenter, Ama K Abebrese has been chastised following her comment on Ghanaian celebrities being ban from advertising for betting and alcoholic companies.
After the Ghana Gaming Commission issued a statement cautioning betting operators not use celebrities or people with a huge following on social media to entice people to gamble, the popular actress linked it to the brutality in Nigerian regarding #EndSARS.
She asserted that everyone has a right to protest what matters to them because while Nigerian youth are trying to fight #EndSARS and #PoliceBrutality, Ghanaian celebrities are also fighting to be paid to promote alcohol and sports betting to youths as a ‘Human Rights’ issue.
Her comment was quickly described as the weakest analogy ever by Ghanaian media personality, Kwame Dadzie.
The entertainment writer, therefore, asked Ama K to keep mute if she has nothing to say.
He didn’t see the need for her to compare these issues.
