In the ever-evolving world of Ghanaian music, the debate over who reigns supreme has been a topic of discussion among fans and industry players.
Recently, this debate has gained renewed momentum thanks to the candid remarks made by renowned Ghanaian musician Samini.
Samini‘s endorsement of Shatta Wale over Stonebwoy has sparked a fierce conversation about the hierarchy of musical talent in the Ghanaian music scene.
Samini’s assertion that he would choose Shatta Wale over Stonebwoy has stirred controversy. According to Samini, his preference for Shatta Wale stems from the artist’s longevity in the music industry and his ability to establish and sustain his popularity over the years.
He conceded that Stonebwoy is a talented artist but pointed out that he is still in the process of establishing himself and would need more time to reach the level of success and influence that Shatta Wale has attained.

While that can be viewed as his personal view on the subject matter, popular Ghanaian music promoter Sadick Assah, also known as Sleeky, appears to be infuriated by the comments of Samini.
He has weighed in on the issue, arguing that Stonebwoy is, in fact, bigger than Samini.
In defense of Stonebwoy’s claim to supremacy, Sleeky took to Twitter to highlight the idea that musical talent should not solely be measured by the past but should also take into account an artist’s current impact and relevance in the industry.
According to him, Stonebwoy‘s consistent output, international recognition, and numerous accolades are factors that bolster the argument that he is, indeed, a bigger force in the Ghanaian music scene.
His full tweet reads: “The loyalty of the raster man is not genuine; it’s a complete sellout to see this from you. There is a difference between existence and achievement. If your rating is based on era and past glory, then @stonebwoy over you all. No way Stone will choose Wale over Samini on national TV. You do yawa, @samini_dagaati.”
