Kumawood actress, Portia Asare has kicked against the building of a film village in Ghana.
Portia detailed how unnecessary it is for the government to construct a film village in an exclusive interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’.
She argued that filmmakers in the country need more theatres to showcase their movies and not a film village.
The actress cited the cultural centre in Kumasi, the arts centre as a film village.
According to her, the name ‘Film Village’ sounds very nice but it won’t be beneficial at the moment.
She reiterated the exorbitant charges private cinema owners’ takes from movie makers when they use such facilities.
Portia Asare questioned the achievements of the industry and why some Industry players see the building of the film village as a necessity.
