Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has finally made known his political intentions and has stated that he wishes to run for president in 2024.
Sarkodie, in a post on social media on Thursday, July 23, 2020, shared photos of himself dressed in a black kaftan-like shirt over a pair of striped material trousers.
Wearing a pair of black Chelsea boots to match, Sarkodie is seen sitting comfortably and making a point.
From his appearance and gestures, the Oofeetsɔ hitmaker looked more like a politician than the versatile rapper he is known to be.
It was while sharing the photo that Sarkodie dropped a hint of a possible presidential bid in 2024.In his caption to the photos, Sarkodie asked his fans to speak their mind if he were to stand for president in the next four years.
He wrote: “Presidential candidate 2024 Anaa mo se?”
But his post was met with sharp reactions, with some saying he should stick to music and not meddle in politics.
Others also bashed King Sark saying he could not even manage an artiste he signed to his record label, therefore, he will not be able to run a country.
Sarkodie has previously done songs that express his interest in the Ghanaian political space.
Kwaku Offei Bekoe was of the view that if Sarkodie even stood for Assemblyman, he would lose. He wrote: “Assemble man mpo u no get.”
Counselor Kwabena Afriyie also commented: “StrongMan koraa you couldn’t manage na Ghana?”
John Kofi Baah Yeboah was however of the view that Sark could make a good president. His comment read: “Like u will be the most successful president in history cus whatever u touch turns to Gold. #Greatness 👌🏽❤️🐐”
