Hakeem Comanda

Hakeem Issah, one of the contestants for TV3’s recently held Talented Kids reality show has accused rapper and producer Cabum of theft.

The kid popularly known as Hakeem Comanda on Zylofon FM speaking to Sammy Flex, host of the station’s entertainment morning show alleged that Cabum has stolen his song, Rap Alphabet. Hakeem on Thursday edition of the program revealed that he recorded the ‘Rap Alphabet’ single 3 months before 2018 Talented Kids and the Chedish coiner has recorded the same tune. According to him, he performed the song at the grand finale of the reality show which received good reviews from the public.

The young rapper further disclosed that Cabum gave him thumbs up on social media after the reality show making emphasis on the Rap Alphabet song he performed at the finals of the event only to go on Youtube later to hear a song from the 33-year-old rapper with a song with the same title as his.

To him, he believes Cabum recorded the Alphabet song after watching his performance of ‘Rap Alphabets’ at the finals of this year’s Talented Kids.

Manager and brother of the kid, 2 Pesewas detailing the accusation said Cabum released his ‘Alphabet’ single a month ago when Hakeem had recorded his song three months before qualifying for Talented Kids this year. 2 Pesewas continued to say that he believes Cabum might have taken inspiration from the kid after listening to his ‘Rap Alphabet’ song during his performance at the reality show.

When asked if they released the tune after the young boy recorded it, he replied “no” with reason that he was busily preparing for the Talented Kids reality show so they wanted him to focus on winning the project.

Cabum reacting to the allegation on the program called the claim bogus. To him, their assertion holds no water so the public should give death ears to it. Born Frank Kwame Gyasi- Frimpong, Cabum stated that he would not have recorded the song if he knew that Hakeen had a version of it. The OM Studio signee also revealed that he was inspired by American rapper Pappoose so the 2018 Talented Kids contestant should not think the ‘Alphabet’ rap song is his idea.

He further advised Hakeem not to start his career with controversies because it will negatively affect him in future.
