Ghanaian comedian and teacher, Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has pleaded to the Ghana Education Service and authorities in the country to increase the salaries of teachers.
He made this appeal during a recent interview with ZionFelix on the ‘Uncut’ Show.
As a professional teacher, the comedian revealed his monthly salary is around GHS 1,500 and some coins.
Teacher Kwadwo stressed that he is in the teaching profession because of his passion for the job—but not the money.
He said he would have quit if it is all about money.
When asked if he has plans of quitting his teaching job, Teacher Kwadwo answered he has not thought of that.
He was not sure what the future holds, so he couldn’t firmly state whether he will quit in the future or not.
Just in case he will decide to quit, Teacher Kwadwo stated that it will be due to a time factor on his side.
