After Kurl Songx released his “Jennifer Lomotey” song in 2017, there were a lot of controvery about some of the lyrics of Sarkodie.
Many people, especially the Krobo youth came out to criticise the Sarkcess Music boss for using some lines they believe was insulting and derogatory against their women.

Just around July 2024, there was another concern raised by the same lyrics by the human rights group, the New Ghana Social Justice Forum, who petitioned the French Embassy and the organisers to ban him from performing.
The group also argued that Sarkodie promoted misogyny in that song.
Despite all these backlash and concerns raised, the former Highly Spiritual signed musician who is the owner of the song believes that the lyrics have been misinterpreted by many.
Speaking on Okay FM’s drivetime show which is hosted by Abeiku Santana, Kurl Songx said that Sarkodie was only trying to praise the ladies of the krobo land.
He asked that which man will not like his lady to be a little naughty when it comes to activities in the bedroom and argued that it was the same point Sarkodie was trying to make in the song and not the understanding that it out there.
The “Saneko” crooner added that the ladies of krobo land should rather be happy instead of being angry because Sarkodie only tried to praise them.
