The Public Relations Officer for GHAMRO, Prince Tsegah has hit back at rapper Trigmatic for talking against the organisation’s decision to collect royalties from churches.
The musician was reported to have described a decision by the Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO) for churches to pay royalties as ‘airheaded’, ‘lazy’ and an ‘unthinkable’ decision.
Tsegah on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch entertainment show hosted by Zionfelix reacting to Trigamtic’s comment described him as an ignorant human being who does not know the laws of the country. According to him, the laws of the land allow Ghana Music Right Organization to visit churches and collect royalties for using works of Ghanaian musicians.
He added that his outfit can bend the rules and not fully enforce it because there are several other laws that govern the land but are not implemented.
“I read a headline which suggested that Trigmatic is insulting us that we are lightheaded, unthinkable and lazy. He’s clearly ignorant of whatever is going on because whatever we are doing is in the laws of Ghana. We can bend the rules because there are other laws in the country we do not enforce because of various reasons” Prince Tsegah told Zionfelix.
