After news emerged just yesterday, March 23, that the number of coronavirus disease cases in Ghana was 27, the toll has increased to 52 this morning.
The death toll still stands at 2.
The Minister for health, Kweku Agyemang Manu, confirmed this during a press briefing at the Ministry today, March 24.
Already, intense pressure is mounting on the government to not only close the country’s borders as announced but also introduce a lockdown in addition to President Akufo-Addo’s directives that both public and private schools from tertiary to the basic level, must be closed down until further notice. Also, there is a ban on social gatherings of more than 25 people.
Well, will the president give in to this pressure and is Ghana prepared for a lockdown?
