In a tale of gratitude and transformation, fast-rising Ghanaian movie star 39/40, born Michael Akwasi Afranie, has shared his incredible journey in showbiz ever since he made his real breakthrough about three years ago.
Speaking on the Delay show, he praised his senior colleague and his uncle, Ras Nene, famously known as Dr. Likee, for the things he has done for him.

39/40 shared his challenging beginnings in the Ashanti Region. Under the same roof as his uncle, he slept on a floor mattress while his uncle had a bed.
Despite the hardships, his determination to carve a better life led him through various ventures, some fueled by passion and others out of necessity, such as checking lottery tickets for a daily wage of 20 Ghanaian cedis.
He added that his life took a remarkable turn however when he met Dr. Likee at the studio of one producer when he told him about his desire to become an actor.
The 23-year-old actor stressed that things turned around for the better and soon he got significant roles in Dr. Likee’s productions, offering him the exposure he desperately needed, and as such he currently sees him as his “Second God.”
“I owe everything to Dr. Likee. He’s been my guiding light,” confessed 39/40. “There are moments when I want to shout his name from the rooftops, to let the world know how he pulled me up. He’s been exceptional. That’s why I’ve saved his number as ‘Second God’ on my phone. I’m the only one who truly comprehends what he means to me,” he said.
