Award-winning Ghanaian music producer who is popularly known as Appietus has recounted how his wife nearly divorced him some years ago.
According to him, what nearly destroyed his marriage was his refusal to add his signatures to the songs he produced.

In an interview on Citi TV‘s ‘Upside Down’ on what impelled him to start adding his signature to the songs he recorded.
Appietus revealed to the hosts of the show; Frema Adunyame and Nana Tuffour that after he bagged no award at an awards event, his disturbed wife vowed to divorce him if he fails to add his signatures to his songs henceforth.
“My wife and I went to Ghana Music Awards years ago, and I was not awarded…”
“Those who were awarded mostly had their signatures on the songs they had produced… So after the event, on our way home, my wife told me the only way I would also be awarded is when I infuse my signature in the songs”.
“She threatened to divorce me if I didn’t add my signature in all the songs I produced… Her advice has really helped me because I have won many awards since then,”

Appietus is considered one of the greatest producers to ever come from Ghana.
He has produced over 200 hit songs and worked with legends like Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah, Kwabena Kwabena, etc.
