The hope of Ghanaian celebrities to see the annulment of the ban placed on them by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), from promoting alcoholic beverages did not see the light of the day.
After the FDA’s directive, a Ghanaian music executive, Mark Darlington Osae filed a suit to challenge them.
But after about a year and some months, the FDA’s directive was upheld by a majority decision at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, said the FDA’s directive does not contradict the Constitution while reading a short version of the ruling at the court.
Reacting to this in a video sighted by Zionfelix.net, Ghanaian artiste, Camidoh was unhappy about the ruling.

Talking to Onua TV’s Nana Adwoa Annan, the ‘Sugarcane’ hitmaker said they should have banned everyone from taking alcohol then.
He urged authorities to look at things critically.
Camidoh stated that minors can still be targeted through social media since alcohol companies advertise their products on these platforms.
However, he does not see how this ban would affect him so much since it existed before his breakthrough in the music scene.
