The town folks are currently putting on a show by displaying their rich culture through drumming singing, dancing and horse riding to congratulate Chef Faila for showing that indeed she is a determined fighter.
Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, affectionately known as Chef Faila, officially concluded her unprecedented cook-a-thon after an astonishing 10-day marathon.
Even though it was initially planned as a five-day endeavor, it evolved into something entirely different culminating into a groundbreaking 10 days of cooking which translated into 227 hours of continuous cooking.
Chef Faila started this journey on January 1, 2024, with the initial intention of setting a new Guinness World Record.
However, as the days progressed, she demonstrated not only culinary prowess but unwavering determination that surpassed her initial goal.
Her relentless spirit and dedication to breaking barriers in the culinary world propelled her to extend the cook-a-thon to an impressive 10 days — something that shocked many, especially, as she looked more stronger as the days progressed.
On the ninth day of this journey, Chef Faila’s husband, Captain Reginald Agyei gave a hint that she was going to end today, January 10, 2024, because he had concerns for her health despite reassurances from both the medical team and the chef herself.
“I just want her to be safe. I don’t want her overstressing herself. I’m an officer, so obviously I’ve trained officers and all. So I know the point where when you get out this point, we are not coming out,” Captain Agyei explained. “Right now, I can say on authority that we are calling it quits. She is okay. She’s willing to continue. The medical team is saying she’s okay, but the team myself, we think it’s enough,” he told Gh One TV.
Well, just as her husband, Captain Reginald Agyei had indicated, Chef Faila ended around 11:00 AM this morning after the impressive 227 hours of cooking over 70 different delicious dishes.
Just when the clock was stopped, Chef Faila got a huge applause from all the people gathered while the top hierarchy of the military who were gathered there saluted her.
