Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Kofi Kinaata, started off his music journey as one of the finest rappers.
Along the line, he decided to spice it up with some singing and in the last few years, he appears to be stuck with the singing instead of the rap.
Well, the question was put to him when he was interviewed on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, by the host, Doreen, and he had this to say.
According to the ‘Confession’ hitmaker, the decision to do more singing instead of rap is largely because he came to the realization that his music has been accepted by a larger crowd rather than just his lovely Fante-speaking fans.

Kinaata added that taking the above into consideration, he realized that it was pointless to just rap and recite a poem most of them will not understand, taking into account the fact most of his international audience do not speak his language, Fante.
Therefore, he decided to sing more, and add a few melodies, rhythm, and other musical elements to the same lyrics he would have rapped just to get this audience to dance and enjoy his music as well.
